Origin Story

March of 2020 will always be remembered by families in New Mexico as the time when their children’s educations were placed on hold by the government as well as the moment COVID became tangible to many across the State. Through this difficult time, God began working in the hearts of families, and for the first time, many began seeking alternative options of education for their children. Several experienced the freedom gained through Classical Christian Education (CCE) when education was placed back into the home. The Lord began placing the realization in hearts of parents that they could not return to an educational system where pedagogy was not only separate from religion, but ultimately pushed aside.

Artesia Classical Academy, Inc. (ACA) was envisioned during a time of turmoil, but from it came excitement and hope as God worked in the lives of families in Artesia to offer a different educational option that not only will give student’s a strong educational foundation, but one that is Christ-centered in every aspect.

The school first operated as a learning cooperative for one year before opening its doors on August 11, 2022, for its inaugural year as an academy. Since, it has become not only a school of quality education, but a great option for families who seek to have consistency in faith, discipline, and civics between home, school, and church.
